Love it or hate it, we all know social media has revolutionised our world and how we reach people. Having never ventured much further than a Facebook profile to keep in contact with friends and family near and far, I have braved the world of Instagram, blogging and Twitter to join the writing and reader communities on a whole new level. And what a revelation! As much as the faceless "haters" that post shameless, uninformed, hateful responses on social media make one wonder what happened to humanity, the technology that enables instant access to millions of users is humbling. So taking the amazing, mind-blowing benefits along with the full spectrum of uncensored faceless human voices I've stepped boldly into the unknown. As I write this, J.R.R. Tolkien's words resound in my mind keeping it focussed firmly during the adventure of life ahead; "It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Lord of the Rings
Social media - the good the bad and the beautifully photogenic!
